The federal education ministry has started working on the Talemabad project and inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Telenor Pakistan for launching a digital education system here in the country on Wednesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that now the schools in Islamabad will be digitized after signing the MoU with the telecom company.
Shafqat said this project is a huge step towards helping his government to come true the dream of a digital Pakistan and a digital education system in Pakistan.
The education minister said under the MoU, Talemabad will be piloted in six primary level government schools which will be called Talemabad Model Virtual School.
He said the ministry's initiative aimed to bring high-quality digital education to deserving students and schools and Talemabad is the country's first award-winning ad-tech platform to provide digital education based on a single national curriculum.
The minister said Telenor Pakistan will equip six model virtual schools with basic IT hardware and digital management learning systems, skills and tools for teachers, students and administrators.
Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that after the success of the pilot phase, the initiative will be extended to more than 400 schools in Islamabad.
