The federal cabinet has approved the appointment of Artza Qureshi as Managing Director (MD) Pak Arab Refinery Company (PARCO) for three years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

PARCO refinery upgradation and establishment of new refinery are among MD PARCO's main targets.

Artza Qureshi has served in international companies including Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL).

As many as eight candidates were shortlisted for MD PARCO and seven candidates were interviewed.

Earlier, Artza Qureshi was appointed Deputy MD Finance Parco in August 2021.

Approval was obtained from the Federal Cabinet through the summary circulation of the Ministry of Energy.

After the Prime Minister's approval, the summary was sent to the Federal Cabinet for approval.
