A judicial magistrate in Lahore Thursday extended the judicial remand of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi for 14 days in two corruption cases and issued a show cause notice to the investigation officer for failing to submit the challans, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, who is accused of illegal promotion of Muhammad Khan Bhatti and corruption in Gujrat district, was presented before Judicial Magistrate Imran Abid at District Kachhari on Thursday.
The court expressed displeasure over the delay in filing the challans and asked the investigation officer to explain why he had not complied with the law.
The court ordered him to submit the challans and his reply by February 15. Meanwhile, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was sent back to jail on judicial remand till February 15.
