Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Shahid Jameel Khan has tendered resignation from his post, citing "personal reasons", reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Justice Shahid Jameel Khan, who was due to retire on 29 April, 2028, has forwarded his resignation to President Arif Alvi.
Justice Shahid, who held the 11th position in the LHC’s seniority list, cited personal reasons for quitting his post.
A copy of his resignation has been submitted to the president’s office.
It is noteworthy that Justice Shahid was appointed as a judge of the LHC on 22 March, 2014.
It may be recalled that in recent days, Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi had resigned from the Supreme Court saying “It was no longer possible for him to continue due to circumstances which were a matter of public knowledge”.
Following his resignation, Supreme Court’s senior-most judge, Ijaz Ul Ahsan, had also resigned a day later from his office.
