Rain, snow and floods expected in Pakistan on Friday

A weather report issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Thursday warned of rain, snow and floods in various parts of the country on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


According to the PMD, Islamabad and surrounding areas will experience cold and partly cloudy weather, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see rain and snow in the mountains in several districts, accompanied by strong winds and thundershowers.


Punjab will also have cold and partly cloudy weather in most of the districts, with fog during night hours in some areas.


Balochistan will face cloudiness in most of the districts, with strong winds and thundershowers and chances of snow in mountains. Heavy rain/snowfall is also expected at few places, which may cause flooding in the local rivers of some districts.


Sindh will have cold and partly cloudy weather in most of the districts, with strong winds and thundershowers in some areas.


Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also witness rain and snow in the mountains with strong winds and thunderstorms at a few places.


The PMD advised the public to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas.
