Dense fog again descended on the plains of Punjab late Saturday night, reducing visibility in some areas almost to nil and leading to the closure of different sections of the motorway, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Fog in Narowal disrupts routine life

Dense fog reduced visibility to 15 meters in Narowal and 10 meters in its suburbs, considerably slowing down the pace of traffic and disrupting routine life.

The winter season, which was almost over, returned with the fog.

Motorways closed due to fog

Different sections of the motorway had to be closed for traffic after fog made travelling extremely hazardous.

M-2, from Lahore to Kot Momin, M-3, from Faizpur to Summundri, and M-11, from Lahore to Sialkot were all declared off-limits for vehicles.

Light rain, snowfall forecast for northern areas

On the other hand, the Met Office, in its forecast, said that the weather would remain cold and dry in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, barring the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), where light rain and light snow, accompanied by strong winds, were expected in the morning.

It also predicted fog for the northeastern parts of Punjab.
