Power distribution companies (Discos) submitted a petition to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking Rs52.12 billion relief for consumers during first quarter of current fiscal year 2024-25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to details, the electricity tariff will be decreased by Rs2 per unit after approval from NEPRA.
The petition was filed under the head of adjustment during second quarter of current fiscal year. The petition was filed on February 2, 2025.
NEPRA sought reduction of Rs50.66 billion under the head of capacity charges.
NEPRA also filed application for decrease in losses of transmission and industry distribution worth Rs2.66 billion, while Rs6.69 billion were demanded for reduction in operations and maintenance.
The reduction in adjustment charges will be provided to consumers for fourth quarters from October 2024 to December 2024 the decrease will also be provided to K-Electric consumers.
