The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has postponed its written examinations for the posts of Tehsildar, Isthemal Officer and Hill Torrent Officers as hundreds of candidates and invigilators did not reach the examination centres amid dense fog and harsh weather conditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The new date for the examinations will be announced later.
The TV channel quoting its sources said that the examinations were supposed to be held today (Saturday) under Punjab Public Service Commission but a large number of candidates and supervisors did not reach the centres amid harsh weather conditions.
The PPSC suffered around Rs9.5 million loss with the postponing of today's examinations in terms of question and answer papers, PPSC’s TADA. The TV channel reported eight directors and 156 staffers were deployed to conduct the test in which 134,071 candidates were supposed to appear.
It has been reported that the PPSC’s staffers advised not to conduct the examinations keeping in view the harsh weather conditions.
It is pertinent to note that the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) had cancelled its scheduled examinations amid a sharp increase in coronavirus cases in last November.
