The PPP announced that it would corner a rebel party MPA from Punjab after he and some PML-N lawmakers again held a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Similarly, PML-N decided to take strict action against the rebel MPAs as the party’s provincial information secretary, Azma Bokhari, in a statement said the persons not following the party manifesto and leadership’s directives would not party ticket in future.

The same lawmakers had previously apologised for meeting with Buzdar and promised that they would not repeat it in future, Azma said.

Hassan Mujtaba – PPP parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly – described Ghazanfar Langah as a lota (turncoat) who, he added, had insulted the people mandate and trust by meeting Buzdar again and again.

He also told Buzdar that the lotacracy won’t work in future, adding that Jahangir Tareen, who use to form governments through lotas, had fled the country.

“The party leadership will certainly take action against the lota but we will ensure that he isn’t in a position to sit in the House,” said Hassan.

Earlier, the opposition members met Buzdar despite the show-cause notices and repeated warnings, as the government wants to maintain the number game amid the worsening relations with the allied parties to counter any change in the situation.

Apart from Langah, six PML-N makers – Mian Jalil Ahmed Sharaqpuri, Chaudhry Ashraf Ansari, Maulana Ghayasuddin, Faisal Khan Niazi, Azhar Abbas and Nishat Daha – met Buzdar for the third time.

The development came despite the fact that the PML-N has directed the party members against meeting Buzdar. Moreover, these rebel MPAs were previously served with show-cause notices for the very same reason.
