A legal notice of Rs180 million fine has been issued to social media fame singer Kashif Rana alias Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for his 'bad' singing and defaming the classic singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the notice was sent to Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s UK residence by Mian Muhammad Umair Niaz on behalf of Qaiser Munir Khan on Monday.
The notice states that if Chahat Fateh Ali Khan fails to respond within 15 days, a defamation lawsuit will be filed in court.
The legal notice accuses Chahat Fateh Ali Khan of tarnishing the name of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and hurting the sentiments of the people of Faisalabad, as well as violating copyright acts.
According to the legal notice, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan falsely claimed to be a relative of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and his singing has damaged Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s legacy.
The notice further stated that Chahat’s off-key singing had offended the people of Faisalabad.
The legal notice demanded that Chahat Fateh Ali Khan publicly apologize on social media and if he failed to respond or apologize within 15 days, legal action and a defamation lawsuit of Rs180 million will be pursued.
