Karachi goods transporters have announced a 20 percent increase in fares after raise in petroleum products, reported 24News TV channel on Tuesday.
In this regard, Goods Carrier Association President Noor Khan Niazi said if diesel becomes expensive, the burden of increase in fares will be passed on to the public.
Noor Khan Niazi further said that increase in fares will bring a storm of inflation.
Due to diesel being expensive, the burden falls on the people and agriculture, Noor Khan Niazi said.
Spare parts costs are increasing which is also one of the reasons of increase in fares, Noor Khan Niazi added.
He said toll tax has also been increased since July and this regard government should come to senses.
