The prices of wheat and flour have seen an upward trend in the last couple of days in the provincial capital city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the provincial metropolis, the price of a 20-kg bag of flour has increased by Rs150 from Rs1,800 to Rs1,950.
This continuous increase in flour prices is becoming a source of concern for both consumers and retailers.
Tahir Saqlain, the President of the Karyana Merchants Association, expressed his worry over the escalating flour prices. He emphasized the urgency of controlling these price hikes, stating that the frequent increases are alarming and need immediate attention.
"The rising cost of flour is not just a concern for households but also the broader food industry," said Saqlain.
"If this trend continues, we can expect a ripple effect, leading to higher prices for bread, naan, and various bakery items."
