Justice Faez Isa submitted another application before the Supreme Court in connection with the presidential reference filed against him, raising objection to Law Minister Farogh Naseem’s eligibility to contest against him.
In the application, Justice Faez Isa submitted that Farogh Naseem could not contest against him as constitution barred him from appearing before the apex court. Law minister’s appearance in this case is violation of the section 98 and Bar Council Act 1973, said Justice Qazi.
He urged the Supreme Court to not allow Farogh Naseem to represent the federal government or any private respondent in his case.
“The law minister’s act of resigning just one day ahead of the case shows malafide intention,” said the supreme court judge. Naseem is violating his oath by appearing in this case, he added.

Federal Law minister Farogh Naseem Monday presented his resignation to the government so that he could become a counsel of federal government in Justice Qazi Faez Isa case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
A 10-member judge bench, led by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, will resume hearing the case on June 2 that was earlier scheduled to be taken up on March 30. The apex court had postponed the hearing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed had earlier refused to represent the government in the said case.
