A soldier embraced martyrdom in a mine blast near a checkpost in North Waziristan, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

According to ISPR, Lance Naik Waqas Ahmad embraced martyrdom in the explosion. The lawmen cordoned off the area and started a search operation, the military media wing said adding that such cowardice acts can't shatter the peace resolve.

KP Chief Minister Memood Khan expressed solidarity with the family of the martyred soldier. He said backed by the nation, the Army has been standing firm against terrorists.
