The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday approved the transit bail of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan until June 25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court ordered Imran Khan to submit Rs50,000 surety bonds for the three-week transit bail.
PHC Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid heard the former prime minister's application for transit bail.
Imran Khan's counsel Babar Awan informed the court that there were 14 FIRs lodged against his client in which it was written "on the instigation of Imran Khan."
The chief justice approved bail for three weeks. "You can come back to the court again if you want," the chief judge remarked.
The PHC chief justice also directed Imran Khan not to deliver any speech on the high court's premises.
"It's okay, Sir," Imran Khan assured the court.
Earlier, the Peshawar High Court admitted for immediate hearing the petition filed by Imran Khan for transit bail. Soon after filing the application, Imran Khan returned to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister House.
IHC stops police from arresting Asad Qaiser, Hammad Azhar
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday stopped the police and Secretary Interior from arresting the former speaker of the National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaiser and former minister Hammad Azhar.
The IHC also granted bail to PTI leader Hammad Azhar till June 13th and stopped police from arresting hum until next hearing.
The IHC heard the pleas of Asad Qaiser against FIRs registered against him. The court has stopped the police from arresting Asad Qaiser keeping in view of the FIRs registered amid the PTI long march.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah inquired what had happened to Asad Qaiser, on which his counsel replied, “Police registered multiple FIRs against Asad Qaiser amid the long march of PTI.”
He pleaded that his client wanted to appear before relevant forums.
The IHC issued notices to the relevant parties and sought replies from the Interior Secretary.
IHC CJ Athar Minallah directed Secretary Interior to present the details of how many FIRs were registered in all provinces against the Asad Qaiser.
Asad Qaiser talking outside the IHC with media persons said the only solution of the ongoing political crisis in the country is holding of general elections immediately.
“All state institutions are respectable for us,” he said.
Asad Qaiser said that PTI had been fighting the legal battle and wanted the government to be made with the fresh mandate.
The case hearing has been adjourned till June 20.
PTI to hold power show at Shangla today
Meanwhile, complete arrangements have been made for the PTI’s public gathering, which is due to begin at Basham in district Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) at 2:00 PM today.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan, KP CM Mehmood Khan and other party leaders will address the event.
