The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Food Safety and Halal Food Authority in a raid on Thursday seized 5,000 kilograms of dead chicken from a shop at Chargano Chowk in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the operation, the food authority team recovered more than 5,000kg meat of dead chicken and sealed the shop.
The suspects escaped from the scene on seeing the officers of the Food Authority.
According to the food authority officials, strict action will be taken against the suspects.
Shahrukh Ali Khan, the Director General (DG) of Peshawar Food Authority has instructed the food safety teams to have a check at chicken shops regularly.
He appealed the citizens to inform the food authorities against substandard food businesses in the city.
