On the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, an inquiry has been started against the suspended government officials who were found involved in the wheat import scandal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Former food security commissioner Dr Waseem Al Hasan has been found accused of incompetence, misconduct and corrupt practices.
He has been directed to submit a written reply within 14 days to the inquiry officer Saleh Ahmad Farooqi.
The prime minister approved an investigation against four suspended officers. DG Plant Protection Allah Dutta Abid and Food Security Commissioner Dr Waseem and Vet Commissioner and Director DPP Sohail Shahzad were also among the suspended. These officers were held responsible for poor planning and negligence.
An inquiry is being conducted against the suspended officers under Civil Servants Efficiency and Discipline Rules 2020.
