Imran-led government has surrendered on the issue of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and gave nod to withdraw the ordinance on Wednesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said the government is ready to withdraw the ordinance and bring the bill in consultation with the stakeholders.
Talking in a media program, Fawad Chaudhry said his government has given a full mandate on PECA Ordinance to Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervez Elahi.
The Information Minister further stated that the Ch Pervez Elahi will make a proposal with the consultation of journalist organizations that will be implemented.
Answering a question, Fawad Chaudhry said they will accept whatever decision Ch Pervez Elahi make in consultation with the journalist organizations.
