Nawabshah Veterinary University Vice-Chancellor Dr Farooq Hassan on Wednesday was removed from his post on the allegation of accepting bribe, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Mr Hassan and his brothers were accused of accepting Rs20.5 million bribe for granting admission to students in the university.

After getting a complaint, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah removed the vice-chancellor and assigned the charge to Dr Sultan Ahmad Jatoi for 45 days.

The chief minister also constituted an inquiry committee to probe the case.

On the other hand, Dr Hassan rejected the allegations saying they were baseless.

A complaint against the university vice-chancellor was lodged by a Hyderabad resident with the Mirpurkhas police station.
