Five remaining Pakistani cricketers stranded in Sri Lanka to leave on Monday

Five Pakistani cricketers, who are still stranded in Sri Lanka are scheduled to leave on Monday morning, it is learnt here.

Ten Pakistani cricketers, who came to Sri Lanka to play club cricket were stranded due to COVID-19 and the first batch of five left earlier this week.

The five, who are flying to Lahore and Karachi (same flight : UL1185 departing at 7.00 AM) on Monday are Azhar Attari, Basit Ali, Ali Manzoor, Faizan Khan and Abid Hassan. The players have been asked to report at the airport at 3.00 AM.

Apart from these five cricketers and other passengers, if any, were asked to buy their Sri Lankan Airlines tickets on Saturday from East Towers, WTC, Echelon Square, Colombo-1.

Sri Lankan Airlines sent this notification to Tanvir Ahmed, the Deputy High Commissioner in Sri Lanka on Friday. On Friday, few of these five cricketers were busy at the police station to get their Saturday's curfew relaxation pass to enable them to buy tickets.

These players were signed by Kalutara Town Cricket Club, Tamil Union, Galle Cricket Club, Panadura Sports Club and Nugegoda Cricket Club.
