The National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges on Tuesday said the privilege of not only one member but the entire house was violated by stopping MNA Mohsin Dawar from going abroad.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the committee chairman Rana Qasim Noon vowed that legal action will be taken against the FIA personnel responsible for this incident. He has called an in-camera meeting on the issue.
The committee also summoned the officials of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the meeting.
He said that the name of the persons should be disclosed in the in-camera meeting under whose order Mohsin was stopped.
North Waziristan lawmaker Mohsin Dawar alleged that he was stopped at the Islamabad airport by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from traveling abroad despite a temporary exemption from ECL.
The FIA officials could not give a satisfactory answer regarding the withholding of permission from the federal government.
He emphasized that his name had been removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) and attached a memorandum from the Ministry of Interior which had granted him permission to travel abroad multiple times.
