National Polio Laboratory's sewage samples testing report confirmed the Polio virus in nine cities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.


As per details, poliovirus has been confirmed in 12 sewage samples from 9 cities including Karachi, Quetta, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Jamshoro, Chaman, Jacobabad, and Naseerabad.


Karachi West Khamisu Goth, Kemari Orangi Nala sewage is polio-positive.


Ring Road Puran in Mirpurkhas is polio-positive.


Tulsidas, Latifabad in Hyderabad is polio positive.


B feeder of Jamshoro drain, Sukkur Makkah pumping station site is polio affected.


Poliovirus was confirmed in the sewage of Saddar Pumping Station in Jacobabad.


Polio has been found in sewage lines of Army Kaziba, Hadi Pocket in Chaman.


The polio virus affects the Railway Bridge in Quetta and the sewage of Wapda Colony in Naseerabad.


Moreover, sampling for polio tests from 9 cities was done from April 1 to 15.


Polio-positive sewage samples reached 109 whereas two poliovirus cases have been reported in the country this year.


The sewage of 33 districts of the four provinces has become polio-positive.


In 2023, 126 sewage samples from 23 districts were found to be polio positive.
