Courtesy constant monitoring done by Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, 95 per cent work on the Shahdara flyover project is complete, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The chief minister again visited the project site early Thursday morning, and checked the quality of the newly built overhead bridge.
He, on the occasion, directed the PHA DG to ensure maximum plantation on both sides of the bridge. “Please make this point, which is a major entrance to Lahore, beautiful by planting trees,” he directed.
The CM also expressed his satisfaction on the progress made on the project so far.
He said the flyover would be opened for traffic in the middle of the ongoing month.
He expressed the hope that after the completion of the project, traffic issues at Lahore’s major entry point would be resolved for good.
Commissioner Lahore division, DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and the contractor briefed the chief minister about the project.
They said that over 300,000 vehicles would pass over the flyover daily.
It was further told that work on the construction of service road around the flyover was underway at a brisk pace.
Provincial ministers Mansoor Qadir, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, the deputy commissioner, CTO, chief commissioner LDA and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
