In a setback for the educated youth of Dera Ismail Khan and neighbouring areas, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has decided to shut down its regional office in DI Khan.
According to official documents obtained by 24 News, the closure will take effect on December 14, 2024.
The document outlines that staff currently assigned to the DI Khan office will be transferred to Islamabad, where they are expected to report to FPSC Headquarters beginning December 14. The FPSC, responsible for recruiting government officers across various administrative departments, plays a pivotal role for candidates seeking public sector employment.
The announcement has stirred concern among aspiring government officers and educated youth in DI Khan and surrounding areas, who now face increased logistical challenges in accessing FPSC services. Additionally, the office’s closure has caused distress among current staff facing relocation to Islamabad.
The closure of the DI Khan regional office is seen as a potential hurdle for young professionals and candidates preparing for government exams in the region.
