Pakistan’s total debt has been increased by $37 billion in one year according to the annual debt report 2020-21 released by the Ministry of Finance, reported 24NewsHD TV on Saturday
According to the Ministry of Finance, the country's total debt reached $253 billion by June 2021. In June 2020, the country's total debt was 216 billion.
The total volume of domestic debt as of June 2021 is $167 billion. The accumulated value of domestic debt was $138 billion in June 2020.
In June 2020, the foreign debt volume was $78 billion. In June 2021, the volume of foreign debt reached to $86billion.
In June 2021, the dollar rate was Rs157.30.In June 2020, the dollar rate was Rs168.20.
By June 2021, the national debt reached to Rs39,859 billion. In June 2020, the national debt was Rs36,399 billion.
By June 2021, government debt has reached Rs35,756 billion. In June 2020, the government debt was Rs33,235 billion.
As of June 2021, the national debt in terms of GDP was 83.5%. In June 2020, the national debt in terms of GDP was 87.5%.
The Finance Ministry said in one year, the country's debt decreased by 4% in terms of GDP.
