At least 119 dengue cases were reported in Lahore within the last 24 hours (Saturday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Lahore is experiencing a high increase in dengue cases, with 119 people admitted in just one day, and no fatalities have been reported. Meanwhile, dengue larvae were also recovered from 1477 places in Lahore.
Although there have been claims of dengue larvae being destroyed, health professionals are stating these reports are false and deploring the ineffective and lackluster drive to check larvae.
Islamabad reports 73 dengue cases
Dengue has posed a serious threat in Capital Territory as 73 people have been infected with dengue in the last 24 hours including 30 in urban areas and 43 in rural regions, according to the most recent District Health Office data. There have been 2,508 dengue cases in Islamabad overall, and six people have died as a result of the disease.
13 dengue infected patients were admitted in PIMS hospital Islamabad in one day, taking the patients’ toll to 409 overall in PIMS hospital.
Similarly, 102 dengue patients are under treatment in Polyclinic while 53 patients are under treatment in Capital hospital.
Peshawar reports 44 dengue cases
On the other hand, dengue cases continue to increase despite the decrease in the temperature. In Peshawar, 44 dengue patients were brought to the hospitals within 24 hours.
The figures show that a total of 8,961 people landed in the hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this season. Of them, 3,003 patients were from Peshawar. Meanwhile 8 people succumbed to death due to this virus.
Likewise, 2,337 cases of dengue were surfaced in Mardan so far.
