Tension prevailed in the Moti Bazaar area of Old City Lahore Sunday after a fire broke out at a footwear godown, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

On Sunday evening, the locals noticed smoke billowing out of the footwear godown located behind Chuna Mandi Girls College and alerted the 1122 fire brigade and the Masti Gate Police Station. The fire incident happened in the crowded wholesale market of cloth and footwear. 

According to them, the fire spread rapidly due to the flammable nature of the rubber and plastic material in the warehouse. 

According to the rescue officials that the teams of 1122 have reached the spot and rescue operations are underway.
