PCB earns millions but halts payments of allied depts

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earned handsome money from Pakistan and England match at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore but halted the payments of allied departments including of Lahore Waste Management Authority (LWMC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The PCB earned millions of rupees by selling more than 60,000 tickets but did not give a single penny to the allied departments.

For example, LWMC deployed 254 workers and officers for sanitation and ensured sanitation arrangements pre, during, and post-match. 

While the district administration and MCL spent millions of rupees to ensure patch works on roads and lighting arrangements around teams' routes and stadiums.

Punjab Health Department built a ten-bed hospital in Nishtar Park Sports Complex while Rescue 1122 ensured measures to deal with the emergency situation. 

Also, hundreds of thousands of police personnel were deployed to perform duty.

Other departments including Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL), LDA, WASA, and traffic Police perform their services but PCB did not pay.

It is pertinent to note that in the past, PCB officials complained to the Punjab government when WCLA asked for their dues.
