Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that the PTI wanted to destabilise the country by derailing the economy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the minister said “If they wanted to bring revolution then they first attempt it in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Talk of attacking the Centre by using official resources is totally unacceptable.”
He said the government will not allow any deterioration in law and order situation in any case. “Bloomberg has declared Pakistan’s economy as better. The petrol price has come down for fifth consecutive time,” Tarar added.
The minister said all economic indicators are positive, with foreign exchange reserves improving, the currency remaining stable and inflation decreasing. He regretted that a particular party wants to derail this process. However, he said the party will not succeed in its designs.
Atta categorically stated that any attempt to disturb the law and order situation will not be tolerated and the law will take its course. He said the economic policy of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was not only in the nation's interest but has also started yielding results.
The minister said the world community is also endorsing and appreciating the country's economic policy.
Describing the Prime Minister's visit to the United States as highly successful, the Information Minister said Shehbaz Sharif's address to the UN General Assembly received an unprecedented response, which is an honour for Pakistan.
He said the Prime Minister forcefully presented the case of Kashmir and Palestine at the world body. He said Pakistani delegation led the walk-out from the UN General Assembly during the speech of the Israeli Prime Minister. He said the Israeli Prime Minister addressed the empty hall.
He said Pakistan's foreign policy is on a successful trajectory and the Prime Minister's visit to New York is a manifestation of it.
Responding to a question, the Information Minister said that hosting SCO Heads of Government meeting in Islamabad is a matter of honour for Pakistan which will prove to be a milestone for building soft image of Pakistan. He said we are ready to host the moot.
