The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was told on Wednesday that PTI Senator Shibli Faraz’s name was neither on the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) nor on the Passport and Immigration Department’s list, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of a petition, seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against concerned officials for not striking off the PTI senator’s name from the travel ban lists despite court orders, IHC judge Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri ordered Additional Attorney General (AAG) Munawar Iqbal Duggal to reach the court immediately.
The FIA and Passport and Immigration Department officials were also present in the courtroom.
The FIA officials, on the occasion, informed that the Agency has only one list and that was PNIL, and that Shibli’s name was not on that list.
The Passport and Immigration Department officials also told the court that they had already deleted his name from the Passport Control List. Now the senator’s name was on the Exit Control List (ECL), which was controlled by the Interior Ministry.
Shibli’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Advocate appeared in the court.
