Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of a clash between police and protesting visually-impaired persons, a handout said on Tuesday.
For nine days, a group of special persons have been on a demo against the authorities' inability to look after them.
They staged a sit-in on Faisal Chowk and Tuesday morning, they marched towards the Governor House where police stopped them from getting in when the clash erupted.
According to the protesters, policepersons manhandled them while the police said the white-cane person attacked them.
As the story made headlines, the chief minister took notice and asked the chief secretary to negotiate with the protesters and resolve the issue.
She issued directives to the police to show restraints. She said the government felt strong concerns for special persons and will take care of them.
