The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 for two days in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Bahawalpur banning all kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, public meetings, demonstrations, protests and all such activities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the notification issued on Tuesday, the ban will be effective from Wednesday, October 2, to Thursday, October 3.
Hours after Mianwali, Section 144 was enforced in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Bahawalpur on the recommendation of the district administrations for maintaining law and order, protection of human lives and property.
Due to security threats, any public gathering can be a soft target for terrorists, Home Department said.
Punjab Home Department has issued notification for implementation of Section 144 and directing mass publicity of implementation of Section 144 for public awareness.
