During the Supreme Court hearing of a property dispute case, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa expressed frustration over baseless litigation on Monday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the case involved a 75-year-old man whose land became the subject of a legal battle after his death, with claims that he had gifted the property to someone other than his two sons.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa questioned the credibility of the claim, stating, "Why would a 75-year-old man give his land as a gift to someone other than his own sons? Some fear of God should be present."
The CJP further noted that such frivolous cases are a waste of the court's time and contribute to the growing backlog of pending cases in the judiciary.
The court dismissed the appeal seeking to exclude Bakht Karam's two sons from the inheritance. The case was originally filed in 2006 and was heard by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
