Bangladeshi cricketer Litton Das has said he is happy to have scored a century at a difficult time and made a good contribution to the team's total, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference at the end of the third-day play of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, he said, "We took our time on the wicket and tried to perform better.
Litton Das scripted history on Day 3 of the second Test against Pakistan as he played one of his best innings in the longest format. He rescued Bangladesh when they were struggling at 26/6. Litton scored a brilliant century off 171 balls.
I’ve scored 141 in Sri Lanka as well, and it feels good to have another significant score in this match," Litton said.
Discussing the playing conditions, Litton said that the wicket had not undergone significant changes, though the ball was moving, making it challenging for the batters.
He also praised Pakistani bowler Khurram Shahzad for his exceptional performance with the new ball.
"Khurram Shahzad performed really well with the new ball. It's always difficult to play against a new ball," Litton acknowledged.
When asked about the potential for dismissing Pakistan quickly in their second innings, Litton remained cautious but optimistic.
"It's hard to say how quickly we can get Pakistan out, but if we bowl well and put in the hard work, Insha'Allah, we will get a good result," he said.
Litton also compared the current pitch conditions to those of the first Test, pointing out that batting had been easier in the previous match.
