Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has criticised an Indian politician for issuing hate-mongering remarks against the Muslims residing in India.
A BJP lawmaker Subramanian Swamy’s statement of calling Muslim residents a threat to India has exposed the anti-Muslim mindset of the Modi government, the minister regretted.
In a video on Twitter on Thursday by VICE, Swamy said: "We know where the Muslim population is large there is always trouble – because the Islamic ideology says so."
As a Punjab government spokesperson, Chohan said he rubbished such statements.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has time and again been showed fascist of the ruling class in India to the world.
He called upon the international community to play its role in refraining such persons from hurting sentiments of a minority at the moment when the world is passing through a critical situation. Reportedly the interview will be aired on Sunday.
