Even doctors, nurses not spared as lockdown in Lahore tightened

As Lahore was giving a deserted look on Friday, even doctors, nurses and paramedical staff were not able to reach hospitals after police started implementing the lockdown orders in a strict manner.
There was severe shortage of staff at hospitals as the police didn’t even spare the medical staff, not allowing them to reach their destination.
It is a clear violation of the government orders as everyone knows that medical staff falls in the category of essential services.
According to 24NewsHD, even the vehicles carrying goods and food items were being stopped at checkpoints and barricades erected around the city.
Meanwhile, Lahore witnessed a complete lockdown despite the fact that the Punjab government had not made any special announcement on the subject.
The move came as it decided to strictly implement the decision to limit the Friday prayers at mosques to three to five people. For this purpose, police were seen enforcing the Section 144 strictly in various areas of the city to minimise the people’s movement.
This exercise was a replication of Sindh where roads and streets gave a deserted look as a complete lockdown was observed in Sindh on Friday afternoon as the government banned big weekly gatherings at mosques.
