The Namaz-e-Janaza of martyred constable was offered on Saturday in Kabirwala tehsil Khanewal with full honours, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.

The constable, Muhammad Waqas, was martyred in an encounter with dacoits the previous night.

The Khanewal Deputy Commissioner, police officials and a large number of citizens attended the Namaz-e-Janaza at Police Lines. Later, the constable was laid to rest.

The encounter took place at Old Lorry Adda at Kabirwala during a hot chase of the dacoits on a motorcycle by the police.

RPO Multan Khurram Ali Shah said martyrs are the crown of the police department. History will remember those who sacrificed their lives for their homeland, he added.
