The number of mobile phone users in Pakistan has swelled to 100 million. 

According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan was just two million in 2012 and this number increased to 16 million in 2014. The PTA said that 87 percent of Pakistani population was being providing the internet facility at the lowest rate in the South Asian region. Currently, four telecom companies are providing mobile phone and internet services in Pakistan, the PTA said.
