PTI minister joins PML-N, another MPA resigns from his seat

The politics of Okara has taken a new turn as PTI Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine announced joining the PML-N, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The PTI minister announced joining the PML-N after a meeting with Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly and a chief minister candidate Hamza Shehbaz.

On the other hand, the PTI workers in Okara protested against the provincial minister as they uprooted a plaque bearing the name of the minister at Sikandar Chowk. They also pummelled [with shoes] the name of the provincial minister engraved on the plaque. The PTI workers also gathered outside Okara Press Club to record their protest.

In another development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) MPA from Rahim Yar Khan Chaudhry Masood Ahmed tendered resignation to the Punjab Assembly deputy speaker.

“There were difficulties in the constituency due to some elements of the government; justice was denied,” the MPA said.

“The circumstances are unbearable; they do not allow me to go against my principles,” he added. “I can’t be a part of your team; my resignation should be accepted,” he stated.
