Ishaq Dar, Australian envoy pledge to enhance bilateral ties

The High Commissioner of Australia Neil Hawkins on Monday called on Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar in Islamabad and exchanged views on enhancing bilateral ties, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The minister briefed the envoy about the current economic outlook of the country and apprised him of pragmatic policy reforms initiated by the government for the socio-economic uplift of the masses. The envoy was also told about the economic progress and development of the country.

The two sides discussed the existing level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and cooperation in trade, economic, and investment fields.

Ishaq Dar also highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries.

The finance minister also commended Australian support for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees in Pakistan. 

High Commissioner informed that the entire amount pledged by the Australian Government has been disbursed.  

The Finance Minister apprised the High commissioner of the progress in talks held with the IMF Mission.

The High Commissioner Neil Hawkins extending greetings on the Holy month of Ramadan, shared his views about the deep-rooted friendly relations between Pakistan and Australia.

He further shared his willingness to boost the ties further in terms of trade and investment. 

The Envoy also apprised the Minister that one hundred thousand Pakistanis besides fifteen thousand Pakistani students in Australia are playing an important role in bringing the two countries closer.

The High Commissioner also appreciated the policies and programs of the government for socioeconomic development and economic growth
