A thief, allegedly involved in a recent burglary, was apprehended while observing Itikaaf (seclusion) in Layyah, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Layyah police not only arrested the suspect, identified as Bilawal, but also successfully recovered the stolen goods from his possession.
Following reports of theft, a police raid was conducted at Jamia Masjid in Layyah's Chak No 106-ML, where Bilawal was found observing Itikaaf.
Police disclosed that Bilawal, along with an accomplice, had purportedly committed a theft two days earlier.
According to authorities, Bilawal and his partner had forcibly entered a tailor's shop, making away with 12 suits after breaking the locks.
Despite their attempt to evade capture, modern technology and surveillance methods enabled the police to track Bilawal's whereabouts, leading to his arrest while he was in seclusion.
The police action resulted in the recovery of the stolen clothes, further aiding in the investigation of the burglary case.
