Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday held a meeting with religious figures from the Shia sect in Lahore and discussed with them the Tahaffuz-e-Buniyad-e-Islam Bill.
Speaking on the occasion, Pervaiz said that love for the Ahl-e-Bait is part of every Muslim’s faith. Under the Tahaffuz-e-Buniyad-e-Islam Bill, he said, Khatam an-Nabiyyin (Seal of Prophets) will be written with the name of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) everywhere in every textbook. Also, names of family members of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) will be mentioned in books with due respect.
Pervaiz said the Punjab Assembly unanimously ordered seizure of all books wherein names of Hazrat Ali (may God be pleased with him) and Ahl-e-Bait were not mentioned with due respect. He said this move is an evidence of Punjab Assembly members’ love for the Ahl-e-Bait.
