The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Caretaker Federal Cabinet Friday approved importing 100,000 Metric Tons of Urea for the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The ECC meeting was presided over by Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, who made this decision after discussing the Ministry of Industries & Production's proposal for the import of 100,000 MT Urea.
This decision is aimed at ensuring sufficient supplies of urea in the market. This will also ensure the stability of prices of fertilizer during the cropping season.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Industries & Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Petroleum Mr. Musadik Masood Malik, Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister for Economic Affairs Mr. Ahad Khan Cheema, Governor SBP, Chairman SECP, Dy Chairman Planning Commission, MD PASSCO, Chairman TCP, Federal Secretaries, and other senior officials of the relevant ministries.
