The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly witnessed an exchange of abuses and blows between the government and the opposition members on Friday.
A trade of barbs followed sloganeering and the use of unparliamentary language by both sides of the aisle as a government member labelled his opposition counterpart as the production of Form 47.
At a moment, every lawmaker was making noise and using foul language, prompting the chair to rule that the house’s sanctity was violated.
“Such incidents violate the sanctity of the House,” he said,
“Our assembly has a tradition of holding debate and showing respect to each other.”
“If this behaviour continues, I will suspend their membership of lawmakers.”
