Seven officers of the provincial capital police including two deputy inspectors general (DIGs) have been transferred and posted.
DIG (Security) Mehboob Rasheed was transferred to Multan as the city police officer (CPO). DIG (Investigations) Shahzada Sultan has been transferred to Police Training Centre as the commandant. Shariq Jamal has been appointed Lahore DIG (Operation).
Capital City Police Officer Umer Sheikh was stated to be feeling uncomfortable with Sultan for not taking interest in the investigation wing. Sultan became the fourth senior cop who was transferred after Umer took charge as the CCPO.
The report cited an official as saying that Sultan was one of the fierce critics of the CCPO who recently conveyed his strong reservations to the higher authorities demanding his transfer and replacement by what he said a professional police officer. Shariq Jamal would be assuming his first field posting in Punjab.
