The attorney general of Pakistan has written a letter to former top judge of Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Shamim asking him to submit his affidavit against ex-chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar to the Pakistan High Commission in London, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Islamabad High Court while taking suo motu notice of former GB chief justice Rana Shamim’s allegations against retired CJP Nisar, ordered Shamim to submit his written reply and the original affidavit to the court.

In compliance with the IHC order, the AGP asked Mr Shamim to send a copy of his affidavit in a sealed envelope to the Pakistan High Commission in London to avoid any suspicion.

The Pakistan High Commission will dispatch the affidavit to the IHC registrar through foreign ministry.

Separately, a petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court for putting ex-top judge of GB Rana Shamim on the Exit Control List.

The petition was submitted on Friday by Advocate Supreme Court Rai Nawaz Kharal.

The advocate also requested the court to make him a party to the Rana Shamim case.

The petitioner said if made party, he would prove that the former GB chief justice was a corrupt and dishonest man. He stated that there was chance that Shamim would flee the country so his name should be put on the ECL.
