Argentinian ambassador calls upon Parvez Elahi

Argentinian Ambassador to Pakistan Leopold Francisco Sahores called on Acting Governor Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Friday.
Matters of mutual interest, enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of livestock, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology and industry came under discussion during the meeting. Deputy Head of Mission Camilo Emisto Silberkasen also attended the meeting.
Parvez Elahi said the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Argentina, are growing and there is a need to take steps to promote trade to cement these ties.
He said Pakistan wanted to take advantage of Argentinian meat processing technology and trade between the two countries in the field of livestock, sports goods and surgical instruments needed to be further enhanced.
He said that as the CM of Punjab, he established Sundar Industrial Estate, through which one window facilities are being provided to the business community.
The government is providing all facilities including security to foreign investors in Pakistan, he said, adding that Pakistan is a peaceful country that has opportunities for investment
The Argentinian ambassador said that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology and industry would be further enhanced.
Argentina wants to work with Pakistan in the field of biotechnology and would also provide technical assistance to Pakistan in the field of food security, he said.
Call for special prayers
A delegation of Ulema and teachers called upon the acting governor. Parvez Elahi stressed the need for special prayers to cope with the challenge of smog. The students should pray the Almighty may bless the country with rain so that smog related issues could be resolved, he said.
