Red Sea Film Festival: Shekhar Kapur heaps praise on Sajal Aly

Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has heaped praise on Pakistani star Sajal Aly at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival.

Sajal showed up at the festival with the cast of the film What’s Love Got to Do With It. Shekhar Kapur directed the Jemima Goldsmith-wirtten film.

“Sajal, do you know when you first came on the screen at the first showing, every man in the hall gasped, Shekhar said as he took to the stage and lauded the Dhoop Ki Deewar star.

"She's one of Pakistan's greatest actresses and she's brilliant. Thank you very much, Sajal ."

 A clip shows Shekhar Kapur called her “one of the greatest actresses of Pakistan.” 

 Shabana Azmi, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kajol also attended the festival.

Aly too shared a picture with the legends Kapur and Azmi on social media.

 “My most favourite people,” the caption read. She added that she is lucky to have an opportunity of work with them.

Sajal’s family, friends, fans and followers rushed to the comment box commending her. 

  

Humayun Saeed wrote: “Proud of you… stay blessed” whereas Mahira Khan wrote: “Unki bhi khushnaseebi humari sajal ke saath kaam kia”.

Saim Sadiq also commented wrote: “Bohat mubarik! So excited for you and this film and for us.”
