At least eight people died as a bus hit a truck after coming under a gun attack near Chillas suburbs, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to sources, unidentified gunmen attacked a passenger bus on Karakoram Highway. As a result, the bus collided with a truck claiming eight lives and injuring 16 persons, they added.
Diamar Deputy Commissioner Arif Ahmed said the K2 Travels bus bearing registration (BLN 4647) was going to Rawalpindi when the tragedy took place.
The Truck driver is among the deceased, sources in the rescue service said.
The deceased and injured were taken to the Chilas Regional Headquarters Hospital, police said, adding that investigations are underway.
