Govt to table ‘Show of Hands’ amendment in NA today

The federal government will today (Wednesday) introduce a constitutional amendment in the National Assembly (NA) for holding Senate elections through a show of hands, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

All members of the National Assembly belonging to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and allied parties have been directed to ensure their presence in today’s session, which will commence at 2PM.

Today's session’s 25-point agenda also includes an adjournment motion by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the hike in electricity tariffs and a call attention notice by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on a reduction in cotton production in the country.

Similarly, reports by standing committees will also be presented at today’s NA session, while Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood will present a bill for the establishment of the University of Islamabad.
